When you set up Clara, your phone was set to forward calls to your Clara NumberIn the Clara app, go to Settings → Call Handling and tap your number to copy it . To stop Clara answering, turn that forwarding off. Your calls will ring your phone again straight away.
There are three ways to turn it off: in the Clara app (recommended), in your phone’s settings, or by dialling your network’s code.
1In the Clara app
- Open Clara and go to Settings → Call Handling → Call Forwarding
- Tap Disable Call Forwarding
- Your phone’s dialer opens and dials the code for you
- Return to Clara and tap Done
2In your phone’s settings
Go back to the same place where you switched it on.
On iPhone
- Open Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Forwarding
- Turn Call Forwarding off
On iOS 17 or earlier, it’s in Settings → Phone → Call Forwarding.
On Android
- Open your Phone app → Settings
- Tap Supplementary services or Calling accounts
- Tap Call forwarding → Always forward
- Turn it off
3Dial your network’s code
Pick your network and use the Turn forwarding off code. Dial it in your phone’s normal dialer and press call.

The ##002# code clears every type of forwarding at once, so it’s the safe choice if you’re not sure which code your network uses.
Using a VoIP or virtual number?
Google Voice, RingCentral, OpenPhone and similar numbers are managed in their own app, so your phone settings won’t affect them.
- Open your provider’s app or dashboard
- Find Call Forwarding or Forwarding Rules
- Remove or disable forwarding to your Clara NumberIn the Clara app, go to Settings → Call Handling and tap your number to copy it
Google Voice
Go to voice.google.com → Settings → Calls → Linked numbers, find your Clara Number, and click Remove.
